# Items

Items play a major component of Rifters. Items are earned from adventuring and combat and can sometimes be bought from merchants.\

Items can be minted using diamonds, then they are on-chain and can be traded or sold between characters.\
\
Items can be trashed for gold if they are not minted.\
\
Every item is unique. A random name of a player is attached to each item.\
\
Using an item with your own name makes it much stronger.

You can collect and create item sets by having 3 items of the same player's name.\
\
A player name is defined by their Discord ID at auth when they create a profile, and cannot be changed. A single wallet can only connect to one character profile.\
\
Items created on Solana in Kalinvale will be capable (in some number) of being moved to Eth/Polygon for use in Eth and Polygon Kalinvale
